Research Line: ICT & e-Government

Objective

The general objective of the e-government research line is to increase and support the expertise of the Flemish government bodies with regard to electronic public administration, with respect to both academic research and the policy-supporting capacity. On the basis of scientific research methods, the following projects will lead to policy-relevant output that will assist the Flemish governments in the choices to be made in the sphere of e-government:

The division into intra, extra and inter-administrative categories is employed in order to provide purchase on the various processes that interact in order to determine the impact of ICT on society and the government.

Relevance for Flanders

In the Flemish public sector several initiatives are being taken and implemented with regard to eGovernment. By providing insights into the principles and dynamics of eGovernment the aim of this research line is to increase the capacity of the Flemish government to implement successful eGovernment-projects.

Methodology

The research consists of international comparative analysis as well as of case-study research.
